SCA, Harping, and sewing
|
I am a Scadian. What is this, you ask? It is a medieval society where I get to dress up in medieval outfits that I have sewn myself and play my harp for my enjoyment and the enjoyment of those around me. To the left you will see my harp, and me playing it of course. I built this harp from a kit. Do you like the celtic decorations? It took forever, but I think she looks very good. And she sounds good too. I am currently working on a harp from scratch. My uncle is helping me with it. He has all the good woodworking tools.

Other interests are Middle Eastern Dance (locally known as Belly Dance), photography, waterfalls, animals (zoos are good for photos - the animals can't get away before you focus), camping and traveling. I have had the opportunity to pet cougars, jaguars, tigers, polar bears, seals and sea lions, desert lynx, and elephants to name a few. I even got my fingers liked by an old kodiak bear whose claws were longer than my fingers! I love to photograph animals and waterfalls. The best zone for falls is SW NC, NE GA, and NW SC. Waterfall heaven, you might say.

Fibromyalgia and Myofascial Pain Syndrome

I have FMS/MPS Complex. What is it, you ask? To be trite, in one word - pain. FMS is a pain amplification syndrome. MPS is muscle pain. The 2 conditions aggravate and perpetuate each other. Think about how much something hurts you, now multiply it by ten and that is what I feel. My life is ruled by pain. I can't get out of bed without taking muscle relaxers and painkillers. Catching hold of life can be very difficult and often seems to pass me by. OK, enough depressing stuff.
